I was considering that. I currently drive an F10 550i that obviously comes without the spoiler. Since I won't take my M5 to the track, my only concern was noise or other non-performance related issues. At up to 140 mph the 550i acted up fine without the spoiler. Won't have much opportunity to do those speeds with the M5 anyway.
Am I missing something? Is the rear axle weight on the M5 different compared to the 550i so that I would definitely need the slightly higher down pressure created by that tiny lip? You made me a bit worried. (H) |

Interesting thread. I also see clients, but prefer to use my Prius. Too many comments even on a simple 335i.
I have a Boxster, too. Non car people think its a supercar. But we know it is affordable. |

LOL.
My clients and employees can never know my car collection. One of the trade offs of owning a successful business. You strive to succeed but you can never show too much wealth. Lose the respect of the employees and they all want raises and the clients think that they are paying you too much money. Now showing up to work in a jacked up Duramax 4 x 4... no problem.

This is pretty interesting. I don't have the M5(yet), but I have a M3 that is obnoxious, so I wouldnt really want to bring that to a executive meeting, but I would. I have a normal 4 cyl honda accord sedan that I drive 90% of the time, and I have a big diesel truck.
My point is that I could easily in "your" position or any position drive my truck to a meeting. A executive meeting, meeting with a buyer, a seller or whatever and This truck would not be looked at as anything but a big truck (maybe redneck). however, it costs almost as much as these other high profile cars we are talking about. My line of work requires meeting with people everyday and giving them money, so they probably rather see me in a expensive car, vs a hoopty, maybe.

When I was selling BMW's it was always interesting to hear clients opinions about the cost of their BMW's, and their neighbors perceptions.
One of my favorite quotes was, "I get more crap and comments about my $20,000 used 3 series, than for my wife's $80,000 Escalade" For me, its never made sense. |
