Not I...It's actually disappointing. They are getting a little over zealous. Like many have said on here..."M is for marketing" They are killing the exclusivity of ///M

135coupe 6speed was one of the best cars I have owned when u consider what you get for the price point. So I like what they have done however this M thing everywhere is getting weird.

I think I'd care more if I followed the development. Seems like they whipped up the car in a short period of time, didn't really get to feel the anticipation. Now with the F80 M3, I am REALLY giving a rat's a$$

It's a big deal because of the price segment the car represents and the performance you get. You gotta remember that the average middle class person (in America at least) cannot afford an M5 or M6. This means that a person making less than $50,000 a year can afford what they "think" is a brand new ///M car. Also the M235i is the first ///M car to hit the streets of the USA, since we never got the M135i, M550d, or MX5d.

Also consider how many BMW fanboy boy racers are going to get this car. I don't know its curb weight yet, but I fully expect to see these things at CCA parking lot Autocross events starting next year. An event where I would never take an M5 to because it's too heavy and the track is suited for racers who have smaller lighter cars.

Also my first prediction of ridiculous mods done to the future M235i is going to be the 1///M style front bumper. For shame.

all valid points. however I asked who cares "here" meaning m5 owners. and by care I meant who would consider getting one. there is a demographic for every car, even the Aztec, the most heinous looking car ever created. that said, if they marketed an m 2 1/2 35i somebody would buy it. a car enthusiast would find something worthwhile in it I'm sure. but as an m5 owner, the m3/m4 is the only other m car I care to spend any time thinking about owning.

I guess I was bored when I posted this.

I like it, but I am more excited about the M2. The M3/4 segment has grown too large for my liking.

i donno how is it in states, but here, if you have M-sport package on non-M car, u have M badges now on the front quarter panels, where our side vents are...

the other day i saw 730d long and it had M badges on the sides, looks like people wanna have M cars, but i dropped my car for service in 2 days after i saw that car and i saw many 6 series and f30's with those badges as well...

this marketing is just killing M

But yeah as an M5 owner, it might make a good daily driver if you don't or can't drive your M5 every day. Depending on the price that is.

Agreed .. look guys lets be honest here. This is another great entry point to the brand that BMW has to have. I think its genius, there are lots of my staff that are salivating at the 235..

I would live to see Hertz replace the C Class with these in their fleet. I drive Hertz C Class a lot since it's become the most common free upgrade at LAX.

I give a rat's arse. I'm feeling a longing for a smaller more visceral car, so this gets my interest.

But if you're talking about the over saturation of "M" then I agree, its not as special as it once was.

as a second car i could see it as useful. however, the m3/m4 would be the ideal second m car to an m5 imo. and really, if you can afford a 30-40K second car in addition to your m5, you can get an m3.
