Warped rotors/screw in tire

So the beast will be out of commission for couple days. Rotors are getting replaced as the steering wheel started to shudder at braking from 60mph or faster and got a screw in the tire so getting a new tire as well. Since its there I'm having them put on the new LCI grilles I got from IND.

A few months back when i originally posted this, they had 2 guys supposedly test drive my car and couldn't recreate my issue. yesterday the public relations/quality control guy at the dealer took it out for a drive and was able to recreate this issue on the 1st try and a few more times after that. The GM spoke to me and said they will replace the front rotors and pads.

If they are going to charge you to swap out the grills, just do it yourself. It literally takes less than 2 minutes.

Already had the grilles done using the pull the grille method. I do agree takes a few mins.

Happy you guys figured it out... I have tried for hours with no luck. Even think I might have cracked one of my grill slots from pulling so hard.

I was scared at 1st to try this method. What I did do was start from the top of the grilles. pulled from the middle with 2 hands and also try and grab the chrome ring part from behind and just pull gently. once you get top part out the rest will follow pretty easily. Took me about 5mins to remove grilles.

My car was picked up from my work by the dealer yesterday to get the front rotors and pads replaced. I get a call a few hrs later from the PR/QC guy that picked up my car, telling me that they hit part of the lift with my tire causing it to be slashed and then also scratching up my wheel. Now they have to get me a new tire and have the wheel sent off to get fixed and re-powder coated. So what should've taken a day to replace rotors and pads will now be at the dealer for 3-4 days as they wait for the wheel. This is the 2nd time that this dealer has damaged a car of mine.

I would be very suspicious that it actually happened putting the car on the lift. More likely that they f'ed it up on the drive over. One reason why I would never let a dealership employee (and likely the lowest paid one) drive my car.

I'd insist on a new wheel.

Sorry to hear about your negative experiences with this dealer.

How do they slash a tire driving your car on to the lift??

You should check out the "slash" and the "scratch" before they do the repairs.

I bet it was the inner sidewall that was slashed trying to position the car over the lift and as the tyre deflated the rim was also damaged in the same area.

UGH, this kind of stuff really makes me mad. Sometimes you wonder if they stop and think that this is a 100k+ vehicle!

Glad its worked out and you are driving again!
