How are does the ordering work? Are you able to choose how many months/years u want? Are you automatically approved or is their some sort of process? I usually buy from the dealer so this will be my first time doing it online.

Anyone can order any Individual color anyway, not just what BMW recommends for the M5. So you could order it in San Marino Blue or Tanzanite Blue too. SMB would look amazing!
Do you know if frozen black is a viable individual option?

How about Estoril (the original - not to be confused with Estoril II) - or is that officially retired?
Original estoril blue is retired for good. Only Estoril Blue II available now. But they look exactly the same? And similar to MCB anyway.

All the Individual colors are including frozen black. You just have to make sure your dealer is using the right special order form for Individual orders that's all.

See Jason's post earlier in the thread where he described the process.

You can't order online; the guide is just posted here for people who want to check it out without going to the dealer first. You still have to take your order to the dealer.

Estoril to me is a many shades lighter than MCB. Loved Estoril - classic e36 color.

I have seen both. Frozen black mainly on M3's, never on M5. That's why I was askingabout M5 availability.
Thinking frozen black/full sakhir.

Right. It's jet black with matte clear coat. The regular Jet Black color would only be different in having a glossy clear coat.

Has anybody heard from their dealers that the dealer has received its allocation? Is a September ED to be expected or will that have to be sometime October?

I wish BMW would just offer NON-MATTE Jet Black (i.e. non-metallic "traditional" Black) as part of the standard palette of available colors. If someone wants NON-MATTE Jet Black, is it necessary to incur the added expense of a special order Individual color?

Spoke to my dealer 5 minutes ago. Nothing on allocations and no live color swatches.

Yup, just like ordering colors that are standard for other models on a model where they're not offered. But honestly there are already 3 blacks to choose from, granted none are non-metallic, but still....
