July build 2013 F10 WITOUT the new Nav?!!

See thread here: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=720887

The member "richemail" said he just took delivery of his 2013 F10 (UK spec) and he did NOT get the updated navigation according to him. The plaque on his door jam does say July build 2013 and his idrive button does say "MEDIA" instead of "CD" like the old ones did.

This would be a HUGE disappointment if Bmw screws early 2013 F10 owners over by not giving us the new nav because we missed it by a few weeks...

Anyone heard otherwise? I am wondering if its a UK thing or if the poster just isn't sure himself.

Alan

Prolly just a UK thing. BMW has specifically said that U.S. Customers taking delivery of 2013 M5 will get the new iDrive.

Also, not to toot our own horn or anything but for those of us doing Euro Delivery, we're safe as our cars don't go into production until mid August. Another benefit of ED.

I understand that the factory closes down for the second half of August so the 9/1 cars will be built in the next 3 weeks.

So they are going to store the cars at the Welt for almost half a month? I would assume the cars would need to be built and ready to go by mid August which would mean production start of either next week or week of the 8/6

I'll check mine when it arrives mid next month. If I dont get the new nav , I'll not take the delivery and reorder later. Simple ! But in my order sheet it does say 609 NAV, so I am assuming it should be ok.

Yes. In fact normally they make the cars about 2 weeks in advance anyway. Last year our car went into production in the last week of September, and my pickup date was October 17th.

I suspect some of the ED cars will go into production on Monday.

VERY concerning. I think I would push out my delivery date and wait for the new one. I have that NAV in my M3 and I do not like it.

I don't believe they've had the August shutdown since 2008. My car's production week is 8/20.

That's a 3-series factory. I believe the 5-series is in such strong demand that they haven't had the traditional shutdown in 3 or 4 years.

Okay I can validate this. I just sent a request for a factory tour of the Dingolfing plant on 8/21. Let's see if they are open or closed.

My car is being produced the week of 8/20 so the factory is for sure open that week. And I know someone else whose car is being built the week of 9/3 so it's open that week too.

That only gives 11 days to build the car. I thought they usually do three weeks prior to delivery?

So hopefully we should start seeing builds the week of 8/13, latest. All depends on whether the factory is closed

As stated previously, don't think there is any factory closure for our cars

I asked this on another website and got flamed...here is the link...the dealer is stating that they are closed for two weeks, http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=635779. Although I pointed out that it just says the 3 series factory.
