Delivery Stop
Posting here because it looks like this is now a widespread issue. The long and short of it is there's a delivery stop (cars cannot be sold if at dealer or released from VPC if still there) affecting many M cars and (based on the sample of this forum) possibly all M5s built between 5/14 and 7/4. Supposedly rear differentials have to be replaced. No ETA.

With 1000+ M cars affected it may take some time to implement a solution. It won't change anything but I'm curious about the root cause. The issue is affecting a number of models that presumably have very different differentials. |

That blows.
If you are someone affected by this, so t hesitate to call BMW Customer Relations and take action to get compensated by BMW for the delay. This happened when the 2013 M5 was first delivered. You may remember the whole faulty oil pump situation back then. I got a comp from BMW due to it delaying my re-delivery.
