throttle response settings

I'm wondering if this is true - it's better for the engine to warm up in efficient mode and then switch to sport at temp? I have no data to back it up, but it seems like the power delivery in efficient mode is smoother and therefore easier on the engine and drivetrain components?

I keep everything tame until the temp is up...including RPMs below 3000

Yeah that's what I do too, and efficient mode pretty much always starts at second gear, so I do use efficient mode until the temp. is up.

I go easy until the motor warms up but hit M1 before the car goes into gear.

Your well engineered engine has some protection procedure to protect the engine and that's why at cold start, you can not rev the engine over 4-5k for the first 10-15 second (engine cuts the rev)... So IMO you can drive the car aggressively just a minute after start...

Press the start, let it idle until the revs drop and then M2 all the way. letting it idle and drop allows fresh oil to circulate, works for me and the beast.....

Not a good idea. Your transmission and differential oil are still cold/ not up to temperature yet.
