Purchase questions from a soon to be M5 owner

Greetings all.
I am looking purchasing a 2014 cpo M5 and have a few questions. It is blk/blk with excutive package, driver assistance, 20" wheels and 24K miles for about $63K. Unfortunately it does not have cp or b&o. I realize that I could find one cheaper but it does also come with full cpo AND extended maintenance until 5/2020. Disadvantages; no cp, b&o, led lighting. Advantages; the car is local (and is absolutely beautiful) with warranty and maintenance included. So worthwhile to pay more ?

Thank you in advance for your opinions.

If CP package, B&O, LED are Important to you, I would hold out. The price with CPO and the maint isn't lower than I've seen with these options included on other cars in my recent search.

Does it have full leather?

I just paid 59k for a CPO 2014 Mcb/silverstone with 29k miles. It doesn't have cp and B&O. But does have LEDS. You can definitely do better than 59k I believe which was bought in Jan.

+1

b&o I would leave unless your a big audiophile, I think the Harmon system is more than enough tbh.

LED headlights transform the front look, and on a car like this should be standard imo.

Comfort access and multi function seats too are a must

Good luck

Agree with these guys. I know you're excited and I'm sure the car is beautiful, but you'll sincerely miss Competition Package and the LED headlamps, to say the least. You can live without B&O and full leather, although they are pretty as hell.

Keep an eye out. More '14s are coming. Hold out for what you want.

Yep, I know that there will always be a supply, and the additional options would be VERY nice. The real debate is the bird in the hand vs two in the bush thing... Also the extended service that was bought by the original owner seems to have merit, as it seems that I "should not" have any real out of pocket surprises for 3 years except for tires as I do plan on playing on the track while my M3 goes to rehab. I live in an area where there is one local dealer, and next closest it 3hr drive, so no real dealer competition = higher price. Thus asking for opinions

Thanks for asking!
It is sitting in my garage "on loan" from the dealership. Having a hard time not bonding with it... I drove 2 hours one ways yesterday to drive a 15 cp with 15K miles, and honestly this one feels much faster. The other one was at a dealer that takes many of the unwanted offlease trades from BMW. Had 2 m5s, and lots of m3s, couple of Bentleys and a Masserati. The one I drove was nice, but did not look babied like this one. Felt like it was rode pretty hard. Still unsure I would miss the cp as I plan on only a few track days this year. Have not been able to compare led lighting but if the Xenon lights are as good as the wife's GTI, they should be adequate...

I am trying to decide between two 2014 m5s..
One is blk/blk $62k w 17k miles cpo w exec,driver assist, and competition pk
Second is blue/blk $60k 26k miles non cpo w exec,driver assist,competition,b+o,led

Both cars have a year left on orig warranty and are at the same dealer.
It's wierd that the pricing diff is only 2k more for the cpo.
The cpo warranty it seems only covers engine and transmission mainly after the orig ends according to the paperwork the dealer sent me..
What would you guys do?

I prefer there blue over blk and all the extras..

Hey, if you love it and feel the connection, maybe it's the car for you... CP or not.

I'd ask why the other car isn't cpo... Perhaps a bad history or something alarming?

He said that they were late on an oil change which knocks the car out of being cpo'ed never heard of that?

Yes, seen some crazy things. Doesn't sound too bad, contingent on how "late" it was. Could also indicate the previous owners other habits. Late oil change could imply he didn't care for the car. Could have been an honest mistake too. Considering free maintenance from bmw though, I think it's a bad sign.

I would wait and get the CP. It's a big difference.

For me: LED, CPO and Competition package were must haves...

I really think the updated LED lights set it apart from the non LED or '13 versions...

best of luck...
