Tarheel VIR Day

Heading to VIR tomorrow for some fun with HPDE through Tarheel Chapter (in the rain it looks like).

Anyone know how long the days and what to expect. I haven't done the Tarheel HPDE before. Many thanks

I assume all CCA chapters basically follow the same format for HDPE events. I've done the Patroon Chapter events at Lime Rock a bunch of times. The basic schedule is:

Gates open at 7:00AM.
Tech and registration both open at 7:15AM and close at 8:30AM sharp.
Driver’s meeting at 8:30AM.
Day usually ends around 4:00.

The day alternates between run sessions and classroom time. You'll probably get 3 or 4 runs sessions throughout the day.

If it looks like rain the day of the event, bring lots of towels. One of the CCA requirements is you have to run with all windows open.

I'll see ya there. I believe there is another f10 M5 in D group, an instructor, and myself in B.

If you are interested in splitting room costs, let me know! I have a double double above the garage paddocks.

Thanks AGS - I had heard about the open window policy - don't really understand it but I'll have towels

Knicks_fan2 - I will do my best to make it come alive on the board once i return. I see that as sort of an obligation...

Thanks Day Laborer, I'll see you there - I originally had made a res at the Villas on the grounds but got roped into a dinner on Sat night back near home so I'm actually driving in both mornings from near Hillsborough. Many thanks for the offer though...

What I heard is in the event of a wreck, they have unrestricted access to the vehicle to extract the driver and/or instructor if there's a fire threat.
