Do you need to code or marry a HI-FI Top Amp to the car?

I need to replace my Hi-Fi TOP amp as it has failed. Do you need to code or marry (devorcing the old unit) to the car or is it a straight swop?

If its a straight swop then I can buy a used one... anyone got one spare?

There's not much coding in the amplifier themselves, just some basic options so I'm 90% sure it'll work without coding. But you can recode a used one if needed. They aren't VIN locked like navigation units, etc.

Great, thanks Dracon... hoping the warranty will take care of it but at least I have options now as I won't pay $3K plus for the Amp.
