Just thought I Post a hello thread.....
I got my F10 M5 Silverstone in December, its my 5th M car and my third M5. I had both the E39 & E60 M5 which were delivered at time of their launch, but I waited for the F10 as I was enjoying my Maserati GT S, so didn't take delivery of a launch car. As a daily drive, IMHO its the best M5 yet, I know both the E39 & E60 have their fans, but as an all round package the F10 takes some beating..... Here's some pictures, currently mine has no mod's, I usually like to enjoy my cars a bit then start with the changes, helps stop getting board too quick! Also put a couple of my old ones.... |

Welcome aboard. Agree with your impressions. Still have a special e39 but f10 takes the cake.

I would summarise it as the Maserati is 'all show & no go' and the M5 is 'all go & no show' |

The Maserati is such a beautiful car...and such an utter disappointment to drive.

Every single thing you said is true. I had a black convertible with red leather, piano black trim and black birdcage wheels with red calipers, I will post a pic when I get to a computer The sound was the best, very Ferrari like, loads and loads of attention with the top down |

Congrats! Count me in as another E60 owner who feels that besides the scream of the S85 at high RPMs the F10 is hands-down a better car.
Love the SSII. Great choice.

Here was my GTS... hated it.. loved the looks i got but this car is totally inferior to the F10 M5... that and it had those silly bunny-ear paddle shifters, 6MT for me all th way in the M5... this GTS made me realize I simply cannot drive an automatic, trip tronic, paddle shift nonsense of a car...

My GT S had a single clutch sequential gearbox and was similar to the E60 M5 SMG in terms of quality of gear change, a bit dated compared to modern DCT boxes..... |
