Back order on rear oem Michelin PSS

I just tried to order a set of oem sized 20 inch Michelin PSS for my M5 from Tirerack. I got a call and they told me the rear tires will not be in inventory until December 31 at the earliest.

Anyone else run across this lately?

I put this in the general section because I figured it was worthy of higher site traffic.

I keep a spare set at the dealership in there winter tire storage. I know I am going to need them and don't want to wait, because when you get a flat or damaged tire 2-3 months is a long time!

Amen. I wanted a set already on hand precisely because of this. There are a few homes left to build out in my neighborhood and nails aren't an uncommon issue here.

Would you go up to 305? Or those unavailable too?

That's tough, Tire rack generally is the best option, unless someone still has stock on some.. I say that because Tire Rack is such a large buyer they even trump regional Michelin distribution centers in many cases when it comes to availability..

Worth trying onlinetires.com like others said in case they have stock still..

The 305 is in stock. Any reason to avoid a 305 solution?

Edit: Backorder is for the rear tires only - Tire Rack and Online Tires

Well, Online Tires apparently found the last pair of rear tires and will get them to me in 5-7 days. Props to them but the well is dry until January for more rear tires in 295/30/20.

Michelin no longer makes the PSS in 305/25/21 -- FYI. If you go to a 21" wheel, your only option now will be PZero's in a 305 or 325.
