The biggest advantage of the V1 is that almost anything will set it off. It's a noisy detector, but it lacks intelligence. It's a bit like the boy that cried wolf. Hard to take seriously. Alex Roy got pulled over on one of the Bullruns for ignoring a V1. If you do get a V1, you can save $100 by calling them and asking for an open box unit for a $100 off. V1 has a 30 day no questions return period and often people end up returning within 30 days because they realize it is not the best detector in the world. These perfect condition returned units are $100 off.

9500ci installed in the car is the way to. The 9500 works great and the laser diffusers are super and have saved me. Don't bother having the diffuser installed in the rear just the two fronts as it saves on the install cost as you really never get shot from behind. Recommended and I just pulled mine from my S6 and installed it on my new M5. Feeling safe again. Window mounted on expensive car are cheesy.

I know very little about detectors. However, I've always been under the impression that Cobra is bottom-barrel crap.

This is why I am very hesitant to get another Cobra,
Now considering Beltronics Magnum vs Beltronics STIR Plus installed with laser jammers! And I am really down to those two now so not sure what to do and the Plus is more than 1000$ but has the laser the jammers and with install probably another 700$ it will be 2k inatalled! A tough one especially I rarely drive my car on the highways or for traveling as have to use Odyssey for kids entertainment - |

I didn't know Cobra still existed.
I also have and recommend the Bel Stir+ laser interceptor quad. 100% stealth install and it's always on. Expensive but it allows you to drive the car like you really want to.

I would stick with Bel rather than do K40.

I am really considering Bel STIR+ but not feeling so strong about the 2k, Though I know it will pay for itself over the years but the car is a lease !!

So if I want a decent system, I'm going to shell out 1.5k for Bel STIR+ and another 2k for laser interceptor, plus installation fees. Obviously I need to get this stuff uninstalled in 3 years when the lease is up which will also cost money.

Bel StiR plus has laser jammers and about 1100$ plus installation fee about 700-900k! - Thing is, Is laser that popular around? Never seen one in NC? I may have heard it say laser my Cobra a few times but no cops around so supposed it was false alarm!! |
