If you are speeding by 15mph, and are lucky that it needs a second to lock on, and have lightning quick reactions it might save you. If you are doing 40mph over the limit then forget it. You won't be able to slow down fast enough even if it has difficulty locking and even if you have lightning fast reaction.

I would highly recommend returning them before you open them. The Zr4 shifters perform poorly. To see how they compare go to www.guysoflidar.com. They are based on LED technology, all of the other current laser jammers that perform better utilize laser diode technology. The Zr4 are not able to jam the LTI Truspeed S, Stalker XLR, Laser Ally, DragonEye Technology LIDAR and the DragonEye Compact. Currently, the best performing laster jammer is the Anitlaser Priority. You can see test results at www.raletc.org

As far as radar detectors the Beltronics StiMagnum, it is a good radar detector and based on the same architecture as the Escort Redline. The Escort Redline is more user customizable that will render it more sensitive to radar threats without resulting in more false alerts than the. Magnum. The state troopers in your state utilize a technique that will prevent the Magnum from alerting, but the Redline will alert when it's settings are properly chosen.

Almost forgot, if you want an integrated system, the AntiLaser Priority can be outfitted with the Beltronics STiR+ radar antenna and can be programmed like the Escort Redline.

You kinda made me happy and upset at the same time,
I just canceled my Laser Shifters order and was already shipped -
Happy because you probably saved me money after all,
Upset as you made me feel Magnum Will Not Be Useful In NC!!

Didn't hear that one before !! State troopers know how to make it not ALERT me !!
WOW!!

Any input on this guys?
Do you live in NC?
More details please?

Should I return the magnum?
Is Cobra XRS 9970G better?

Return the Magnum. The Cobra is junk. In your state the only radar detectors I would use are the Escort Redline, Beltronics STiR+ or the Valentine 1.

I purchased mine for new around $800. I can recommend a few vendors via pm. Retail is 12-1400 I think.

Laser jammer is other option. There are to company's that are worth buying. 1 - laser interceptor ( new model should be released soon) and ALP. I have both. ALP is a solid company and the jammer is a brand new gen. It was proven a few week ago to jam the " unjammable" gun( dragon eye ). Laser interceptors current model Can not jam it. Also note that the current escort laser jammer is the old laser intercepter.

A great resource is radar detector forum (rdf) www.radardetectorforum.org/
Like I said above ....

The redline is the most sensitive detector there is right now. I like the bel because it's 2nd best but has gps lock out so it keeps false to a min.

Where did you buy from. If you purchase the redline from them, they may waive the restocking fee

No prob friend. Lol I bought the Escort but it is a window unit. Works awesome and I switch it to our other cars. Honestly, you have been given many options. Just choose one and be happy. I did not want nor need to spend the money on the top gadgets. Mine has saved me many times over. I think you are over thinking all this stuff.

Dispute the charge with your credit card company. Most states have a three day refund policy law for unopened products.
