Bad news

So a few months ago when Bmw did the recall on the old pumps I called the service department to check and make sure my car wasn't on the list. So just to cover myself I had them give me a letter on their official letterhead saying it wasn't. To my surprise I get an email from BMW north America stating they had been trying to get in contact with me to let me know about the urgent recall. While I appreciate the effort to get in contact with me it really makes me angry that they told me the car wasn't on the list and now it is. The big problem is they also had the car for 10 days due to the fact they couldn't load my gps maps on correctly and still didn't fix it then. I'm not sure if there has been a new update or not, but if not maybe everyone would take a few seconds and check again to make sure that your new baby isn't on the list.

Garage List
2013 BMW M5  [10.00]
The list was published on this forum. Pretty easy to check your VIN.

Has BMW edited that list and added new VINs?

I looked on here to make sure and it wasn't now all the sudden it was. So my assumption is they added new vins to the list. But I could be wrong, if that is the case I still find it strange how the service department would miss it as well.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I'm stating that it was checked and not on the list when the recall first started. Now after driving the car for 6 weeks it is on the list. So like I stated I'm not sure if there is a new list or maybe even vins that were added later.

I highly doubt the list on this site was changed,

I also know that if you haven't had an issue yet then you haven't had an issue yet. There is no in between problem with this oil pump that breaks, if the shaft comes loose then your engine is toast, if there is no oil pressure light/problem then you are ok

Get the fix done and stop driving it now that you know
