BMW had better step up. The RS7 is here.

Just look how rs7 and turbo take corners, there is a huge difference in body control. On track I doubt rs7 will match the handling of m5

Panamera won and it was a very easy decision!
But also 6-7 more. ..

I like how Lieberman does his reviews but I don't like him if he doesn't like M5 period ! - hahahaha

Awesome video. Love Randy Pobst. Who do we have to bribe to get him to do the full reviews from now on instead of Lieberman? Lol!

I didn't expect that much body roll from the RS7. The M5 or M6 Gran Coupe is definitely the better track car than the RS7.

The new Panamera Turbo seems like a fantastic car though. If only it wasn't $200 Grand and didn't look like a Humpback Whale though. Lol!

M5 drivers have nothing to worry about when it comes to the RS7, except that 0-60 time. 3.2s? Sheesh!

Garage List
the current M5 will outsell this RS7 and the next one in 2017 will crush it on every metric.

I'm stunned by the body roll on that RS7...even if it is slightly faster than the M5 in a straight line, that lack of control puts it way outside of the M's league. And I also don't get how people think it looks good - I think on balance, even the Panamera looks better than the Audi.

That Panamera though...what body control, and what an interior! If only it looked a bit better, I think it would be untouchable.

The only thing I will say in the RS7's defense is that the Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) is not yet in production. That system will limit the body roll. Hopefully Audi has figured out a way that the DRC system will not leak. Their DRC systems are infamous for problems in the '03 RS6 and RS4.

I just hope BMW gets the hint that the M5 is no longer in a class of its own and REALLY steps it up for the next M5. I love the F10, but the M5 is not what is used to be. I want the next one to be 500lbs lighter and rev to 8,000. (I miss the V10!)

The DRC also gets panned for harsh ride quality. Say what you will, BMW has achieved something special with the M5's suspension - esp on the comp pak.

I wonder if the RS6 Avante has such bad body roll too. Hmmm....

Boots, that isn't Katy, maybe Spring Branch, but not Katy. As a person who grew up in Katy, I take offense...

This...

I hate air suspended cars--- even the ABC in my SL which is markedly better than airmatic is still soft at points. Im glad I ordered the upgraded (optional) AMG performance suspension (not the stock amg sl63 one).

DRC is springs related on the RS7 with an additional setup/piece: diagonal shocks as well. When I read in mags that the ride is stiff and harsh that makes me happy cause all the cars that Ive owned where that was the review has fit me fine. I do have very nice roads where I live.

I drove the RS7 a few weeks back with the air suspension- very quick and enjoyable around the streets. The exhaust demoralizes the stock F10 exhaust: its just loud with burbles, pops, and backfires.

The Panamera Turbo has air suspension as well.... that thing is planted.

Well of course, Porsche has it dialed--- I have no idea what Audi was doing. Maybe they needed to tweak their suspension electronics a bit or stiffen the rates.

This is the car I drove:

Great video; when I test drove the 981, was a little too noisy for me as a DD & the salesman recommended the Panamera for the refinement, however, I turned down a test drive purely on exterior styling, had I actually driven one, I may not be in the M5 now...

You can even see in the video the HUGE difference in body roll between the RS7 and Turbo. That RS7 seems to have terrible squat and roll issues that I don't remember being as prominent on the M5 or M6GC (judging from videos). That amount of roll will be noticed and felt in everyday situations such as sweeping corners, highway entries, etc... How much it matters, thats subjective but it will be noticed.

I'd still buy an M5 or Turbo. What baffles me is that they would put an RS badge on something that has so much body roll.

From a purely subjective point of view the A7/S7/RS7 is a hideous car. The thing turns into a large clamshell at the back and the lines dont flow. It gives the appearance of being longer than the Panamera, M6GC and even the CLS. I'd take any of those three before this vehicle.

Agreed..I actually wish I had at least test driven the RS7. What I now realize in Washington DC, with tires now and all this power..I need AWD...my M5 is very back happy since the rear tires are cold all the time and have no real grip.
