I don't think it matters much tbh. I haven't seen any concrete proof of one being better than another. Of the known brands that is.

Make sure and do a search. I've read that some DPs have slight fitment issues.

I recommend the following based on feedback from others and fitment/quality

RPI, Undercover, Fabworx, eurocharged, MSR, AMS, and fabspeed

All range in different prices but overall you'll have the same performance and quality is great. I'd go for the ones in the $900-1200 range

What's the difference between that one and the one that is currently on my 5er? It's stock.

It should matter. You'll likely want a catless downpipe that has good heat insulation to not cook your coils/spark plugs in that area. Or add your own insulation later.

They're all the same. Just buy a set with perfect fitment. Then wrap or have them coated.

He means that its cats were gutted of its cells [honeycomb]. Now it's a stock pipe without a catalytic converter.

They are the stock downpipes but I removed the catalytic converters. I went this route to ensure perfect fitment. I have another set on my car and love them.

I bought a set of used OEM downpipes for $350 off of eBay and gutted them.

I don't see any listings there currently but they are double walled and the fitment is perfect. Took me 15 minutes to drill out the catalyst.

Easy peasy.

I always wondered this about scrapped cats. Is there enough titanium from gutting these out to sell to a metal recycler? Or is it enough titanium to only be worth 50 cents? lol
