Wheel spacers and Balancing
Currently have 10mm and 12mm spacers had winter tyres put on and wheels were balanced with spacers on them..is that normal?
Should they have taken them off from wheels prior to balancing? Thanks |

Interesting - hopefully someone can chime in.
My answer would be no. Should balance the wheels without the spacer.

Spacers don't need balancing and should be hubcentric so the wheels are centred on the spacer/hub...
Why did they pull the spacers and put them on the wheel balancer or was it done on the car? |

They didn't pull spacers off car they were stuck / bonded on wheel..
Normally it's the hub they tend to bond with..shall I get them off and reattach to hub ..if so do I need to apply some grease.. Presume will have to get garage to rebalance my alloys.. Thanks |

Spacers need to be removed for proper balance. If you do choose to use spacers, apply anti seize which will aid in non sticking. It sticks due to the high generated heat. In Houston most of the major shops won't even balance wheels if they see you use spacers. Sucks but they won't.
