From E60 M5 to F10 M5
Hello all. I'm new to the kind of new to the forum and look forward to some good videos, advice and knowledge transfer. Today I traded my E60 M5 for an F10 M5. From the little I've driven it today I already love it. Very Very different from the E60 M5.
Boots, this is the guy you met last weekend at the Shell station. |

Uh oh, you already met Boots, that hooligan. I see he already steered you in the right direction. Welcome to the fold.
Did you ever put an exhaust on that V10? It was incredibly difficult for me to give up that F1 sound.

Welcome. I did the same as you, and I haven't looked back at all.
Except when I'm in the tunnel. =) I do miss, the old E60 seats which fit me better, as well as the left/right turn signal. |

I actually approached Boots so I can't blame him for anything yet?
The exhaust note is the one thing I will miss. I had a Supersprint exhaust and loved it. The E60 was just brutal under acceleration and downshifting. Every hard shift you think something broke. Unfortunately I didn't do much today due to work and the rain but I plan on having fun with the F10. |

Hey Malik. Glad you picked up your car. It's no doubt going to be fun driving it. If you need any tips this community will be glad to help you sort things out. Pretty much all is already in the search button but you can text me to help out also. Btw, Rpidave also is a wealth of info and has help guide me on some items that has force pushed my car to happiness. Lol. You have two options. Stay stock fast or get w me to make your car go really fast. Oh yea you won't miss the exhaust note::: get w me on that one.

Boots I must say that I don't miss the E60 as much as I thought I would. I'm sure I would feel different had I not got another M5. Yes the search function is invaluable. It saved many time in the past and I will rely on it as usual.
As far as mods go I'm not sure. Not sure what I need. Naturally I want an exhaust and tune. But beyond that I have no clue but I'm sure I'll learn real fast. Let me know the next time you get out for fun. BTW my name is Marcus. My last dog's name was Malik and this has always been my user name. This is the only pic I have of my 2013. Great color and welcome! This has been an awesome forum for me, and a wealth of information. If you want to go down the path of exhausts and modding - Boots has been an invaluable wealth of information..

The one thing you will definitely miss is the sound of the V10! This turbo V8 has NOTHING on the V10! I had full Dinan on my E60 and went full Akrapovic on my F10, so I am sharing from experience!

Thanks. MCarsFan. I love forums that stick to their intended purpose and don't spend more time discussing current events. This forum is exactly what I need. I am also on the M5 board and used it to do all my maintenance on the E60. So indeed forums are invaluable. No doubt Boots will steer me in the right direction. I just hope he has a spare bedroom cause I may need it if you know what I mean.

Yep, I discovered this on the test drive. The sound is the only thing I miss. I do like the sound when upshifting it's very different. I run Akra on all my bikes but never have on a car. No doubt it's top notch.

Congrats on the switch. The S85 exhaust note will always hold a special place in our hearts, but the F10 M5 is truly an incredible machine. Not to mention an S63tu with an exhaust sounds pretty darn good
