Loud ticking noise from the engine

Took the car to a local Bmw specialist to check a ticking noise from the engine and they advised rod bearings worn out now they are not sure if they are bad enough where is causing that noise . Not sure what to do now ? They waiting for more technicians to look at it and advise .the car has only 13k miles 2017

Was your engine making ticking noise when you first start the car and during idle? This is what my engine is doing at the moment. Thanks

Yes it's loud once you start it then when idle get very loud and noticeable, bmw flagged the warranty due to some ecu tuning by the previous owner

That’s terrible. I wonder what’s the root of the wear. Can’t be year specific because I had the same issue in my ‘14.

Is it lack of oil?

That's what we trying to find out , most likely some ecu tuning * the oil was changed every 5k miles by Bmw

Did you know about car being tuned? Right now, I have no idea if my car has ever been tuned. Like quite a few members here, I will go with engine build should my engine ever to go kaput. I wish you best of luck with your situation.

My engine was replaced under factory warranty.
It’s documented in the forum, long story. Bought the vehicle at 29k from a BMW dealership. Drove it home and within 24 hours I had a pretty large hole and a seized engine.

I don’t see how a tune would have caused this issue.

Exactly Bmw has really poor customer service compared to my local Mercedes dealer I've owned a couple of AMG cars from cl55 to Cl63 and s63 coupe and never experienced such a bad customer service with them , my first Bmw m car and now dealing with this bs

Here's a good thread with videos on normal injector noise vs. a blown gasket.
