Any thoughts on whether a Tesla will have a better resale value than an M5..a few years down the road?

I think the Tesla will hold a better resale value, because right now they are almost a novelty and made in limited numbers....

Hard for me to see electric cars will have better resale value a few years down the road. Battery degrades and eventually needs to be changed, and it cost so much that you might as well buy a new car.
