finally picked up my second M5

Picked it up Wednesday at the welt. It was fairly quiet, my delivery time was 9:00 am. Ran into a nice couple from Seattle, they were picking up 435i. This was his 7th ed, amazing.

I won't go too much into the whole ed experience, there are many threads already. what I will do is compare the differences between my 13 and 15 M5. There are many small updates, some were part of lci and some not. Here's what I've noticed so far.

Soft close doors had a metallic click on my 13, now it has a more solid sounding click. less metallic.

B&O is awesome, and not just the sound quality. I went aluminum trim this time, the whole interior looks better with it and the speaker grills.

BMW changed the park button, it is smoother now.

Love the adjustable seat bolsters.

Car sounds different, probably due to the CP exhaust. I had the valves opened on my 13 and I think it was louder than the CP exhaust. can't wait to get home and wire these open.

Love the full leather, can't believe I didn't choose it last time.

Additional content on HUD is very nice.

I really like what CP package has done to the suspension and the steering system. This should be standard. My 13 steering wheel felt like a buzz saw compared to the new one.

You can change the interior ambient light color now, awesome!

Sakhir Orange is a great color, glad I chose it.

Idrive is better integrated with Android, I can now see my entire playlist via bluetooth.

I'll add to thread as I spend more time with the car.

Enjoy the car. I found the differences very subtle and not material. Was just glad to get back into a new M5 as I regretted the sale of my previous one almost as soon as I sold it.

Agreed, but I think it's little changes that makes the whole product better. But then again, I did add packages which adds to the experience.

My '15 is the first BMW I've ordered with full leather. It's now a must have option for me too.

OP - thanks for posting. I'm about two months away from ordering a 2016 to replace my 2013 (lease ending in August). I've been hoping the addition of the CP plus the other small changes will make it feel "different enough"!

Tanin - would love to see some pictures of your car, showing the exterior and interior in one picture. I've decided on Silverstone for the exterior, but never thought about Sakhir for the interior. Would love to see how they look together. Thanks!

It's definitely worth it. CP makes a noticeable difference.

Agreed. I didn't think it was a necessary option when I bought my 13. Now it is a must have.

Agreed. I think I am going to start with an exhaust. We'll see how it sounds with valves opened.

I know, it is a shame but I liked them more than the forged ones. I believe they are flow formed so they are stronger than normal cast wheels.

I use the built in app that came with note 4. I can see my entire playlist on the HUD. I know iPhones can do that while connected to bluetooth but I couldn't do it with android until now. BTW, my note 4 is on lollipop.

Glad I am not the only one noticing these changes. It is a much better overall product. It almost makes me not buy a first model year car anymore. But then again, I enjoyed my 13 M5 for 2 years.
