I've been generally satisfied with my CP exhaust, but would certainly welcome something louder. It's more aggressive than some give it credit, once you listen to it from an onlooker's perspective. You might check how difficult it is to simply open your existing muffler and remove the baffling. Probably not simple, but I have no idea. Definitely not a $1000 job, however. In the end, I think you will be much happier getting a real exhaust that can easily be returned to stock form at the end of your lease.
I hear ya eleven11 -
I believe I will do the following
1. Get the CP Mufflers
2. Remove resonators
3. Keep My Exhauste Meister

And this way is the closest thing to stock I could possibly be without getting in trouble at th end of lease - because CP Exhauste is probably a welcome change by BMW!

Glad to see your migraine resolving - LOL

See if you can negotiate that price down a little and then it would be worth it. I don't agree at all with people that say the CP exhaust system is slightly louder then stock. Someone who works in my building has a new M6 and his car sounds nothing like mine

You mean really Lider not just louder ?
And I assume his M6 is CP?
That's what you meant?
I know it seems that baffles are removed in the Mufflers of CP and that makes all the difference.

I am so buying them

Exhaust carbons up with time and becomes louder, if compared to brand new

Here two videos of my m5 on cold start with stock resonators on and then a video of resonator delete. you be the judge of the sound on cold start

His M6 is not a CP and I don't know the milage. All I know is that it's a 13 and he drives it almost everyday.

The CP exhaust is a down pipe back one piece unit that is slightly lighter than stock . As others have said it's the stock exhaust with the baffling removed and a different resonator . I don't think there is a power gain but LOTS of pops and burbles on throttle lift vs stock and a more exotic tone . You're best exhaust bang for the buck is to pair up the CP exhaust for 1k with Catless DP's . That sounds amazing and zero drone . Don't know why someone would have cut them unless they got just an axle back I guess . If they are cut they should be even less than 1k IMHO . here is a pick of me bringing my CP exhaust home after installing the M-performance lol . It's one piece and huge .

Where did you get the info on the diff res on cp cars? The only change is the baffles in the mufflers that I am aware of?

Your m5 is a non CP M5 like mine. Just remove them and keep them and the exhaust shop can always add it again.

Yeah on the videos it sounds the same weirdly. But in person it is louder on cold start. The main difference is around 3000rpm when you floor it and let go you hear it pop very loud and when you up shift the pop has louder sharper pop noise now. Its not a major increase in sound but enough to notice in person

But my question for you is?

How much is the gain going to be on top of my 2014 LCI Non Competition with Exhauste Meister that I will probably keep for the CP Mufflers?

Any input from someone who had listened to both CP and Non CP LCI 2014 both? As I believe LCI Non CP is louder than 2013 anyway.

Thank you
And if any of you have them for sale and can give me a better deal too let me know I will pay using Paypal.
I wouldn't do it. Just spend a little more on a proper aftermarket exhaust system.

Yeah, I'd put the money towards an aftermarket set up. I have my CP muffs hanging on the wall in my garage. Bit louder than stock, nice noticable rumble but I didn't think they were worth the effort trying to resell. I figured maybe worth $500-$750.

According to realoem, the CP front exhaust section is a different part than the non-CP front section.

I cut up a CP exhaust for shipping a few months ago and while the CP exhaust looks like it has resonators, there is no perforation inside the resonators to dampen any sound so the resonators are effectively deleted without looking that way from the outside.

Interesting. So CP exhaust has no resonators and no baffle. I love reverse engineering.
