All that engineering, and they can't get rid of the turbo lag? What a waste! I don't care how fast or refined this new M5 is. "The Ultimate Driving Machine" is the one that responds when you want it to. That's what made the naturally aspirated engines so good. These turbos are a step backward for BMW. I say fix the lag, BMW, or go back to doing what you know.

I thought max boost was 21 psi (1.5 bar). That's the official figure quoted by BMW. 1.2 bar for the x5/6M.

It's reviews like this that leave me confident in the new M's. Turbo's will be the future for all of them. But they will continue to be amazing beasts of power and handling.
