New Century BMW said M5 Facelift will be will launched in 2015 on FB

I saw this a while back and thought I will share it now. New Century BMW was rated the top 50 dealership in the US. How accurate you guys think this is?

Dealers usually lie about these releases... reason is bc they dont want to lose sales and make discounts on current models...

This is a complete fabrication. Nowhere near the truth I say. My money is that they have no clue and are trying to make people buy out their 2013 inventory before getting in the new LCI's. Damn Stealers!

Historically speaking, BMW's LCI refresh happens at the two year mark. This fact would disagree with the dealerships statement.

Should expect the 5 Series (and M5) LCI update to happen before the end of this year.

I would expect the M5 LCI to be on the ground and people taking delivery around 10/2013 (conservative estimate). This would mean a production date of around 09/2013.

Wasn't the E60 model 04,05,06,07

Then LCI was 08,09,10?

So F10 should be 11,12,13,14

Then LCI 15,16,17

No?

This, AFAIK, is not really true ... For instance - the last 5 series (E60) was launched in late 2003. The LCI model started production on March 2007 and 3y later - we've got the F10. So the cycle is actually 7 years and LCI coming on 4th year..

EDIT:

Check this out:

The first F10 5 Series Sedan and F07 5 Series GT LCI (facelift) update prototypes have now been spotted. This will facelift the entire 5 Series lineup, including the F10 sedan, F11 touring, F07 GT, and the F10 M5.

We have information which shows production for the F10 LCI as beginning in July 2013, with deliveries starting in August/September of 2013.
That's just awesome if it's true ...

Even if it does start in July it is going to be 4+ months before they are delivered, certainly in the UK anyway. I ordered mine first week of Jan, I have just been told mine has been built so I am still 2-3 weeks away!

Couple ways you cool look at it. Either it is true or false.

My opinion is:

It's on Facebook so it must be true! I personally won't believe it until I get a re-tweet about it. BMW has probably put enough 2013 M5s on dealers lots to carry themselves for 2 years pf M5 sales in the US. But logic hasn't stopped Marketing/Sales "geniuses" in the past from making odd decisions about product changes. If I was waiting for the LCI for my M5 purchase, I would definitely need something more significant than a dealer FB post to get excited.

Oh, yes, you're definitely right for what you're saying.. It'll take some time before you can own an LCI version, but still that doesn't mean the price won't go down immediately with at least 10-15% as soon as it's officially confirmed... And since I haven't decided yet wether to go for a new one or just to get some approved with 10-15k on the clock - I am sure there will be serious price drop for the approved vehicles and much better discounts for the new one (pre-LCI versions) ...

This would make sense, but BMW has been doing weird things lately:

- F30 3-Series GT with retractable rear spoiler?

- Designing new 3 cyclinder engines??

- Introducing 4-Series models???

I was talking M5 in specific. For the E60 M5 this is what they did (rough dates.. may be 4 months off between years):

2006 - SOP
2007
2008 - Update.. Changes to interior design and bumper reflector
2009 -
2010 - Update CIC, EOP

I've been holding off, expecting LCI changes to go into effect with the July production. I cannot recall the source/thread, but wasn't it mentioned that there will be a pause/hold on production in the months of May and/or June, with resumption in July? If that is the case (again, I don't recall how concrete this info is), wouldn't that indicate something changing, or does BMW take pauses in production lines without changes?

I think the plant usually shuts down around August 15th thru September 2nd. Have to double check that though.
