Head up and M view

Just picked up today 2015 M5. Love it. Noticed though one thing that is annoying: the m-view setting for HUD is not remembered. Every time I start/drive car with the same one key, M view is disabled, as default. Any idea why and how to fix it?

Thanks!

As far as I know, you won't be able to make the M view default at startup, just like you can't program the various modes (e.g. Sport, Sport+). Your best option is to program it to one of your M buttons on the steering wheel.

The car never starts in M mode, quickest way to get there is to program one of your M buttons with the settings you want, on start press it and you are good.

In my x6 with custom coding, the M view was enabled and was always on. IMHO m view is not tied to the drive modes...

Go into I drive Menu.
Settings > Heads-Up Display > Displayed Information > Select the M View Box

Now you will always have the M view displayed. Once you are in the Displayed Information page you can hold down one of the 1-8 numbers and select this page as a favorite to make changing back easy when you want normal mode for turn by turn directions.

In your M settings you can also specific what you want for HUD to do but that will be reset upon start-up.

M mode HUD

Check to make sure each key is programmed for the HUD configuration you want.

My default is the normal HUD, but have the M mode programmed to the M1 button. It works for me and I don't need the M display for around town driving. It is useful for when you really want to open up the car.
