Funnily enough, I also contacted them. The guy told me the only reason it's not selling is because it's s manual. I really don't understand these dealers with 15s left over - how are they planning on moving these cars without substantial discount considering the MF/residual on them is terrible (much worse than April 2016 programs), 2016s still being built, and general 2016 inventory is plentiful (relatively speaking). I guess they're waiting for an uninformed customer to come along, but that's s big gamble - these cars are costing them carry cost and dropping in value, it's not like they're selling Ferraris.

Yea, not sure why they are still holding on to them. Had 1 dealer tell me that they were going to be scarce in a few months since there is no MY17.

Yeah he proceeded to tell me that he had many doctors and lawyers interested who were serious buyers but wouldn't pull the trigger due to it being manual. I simply followed up with "I am glad that's what they do for a profession but how does that hold weight in or conversation?". Strange to bring that up like it will sway my decision of over paying for a 2015.

However i would see if there are any left over 2015 M5's on any dealer lots, that is where the huge saving will be, if they can still be leased.

For example i purchased my 2014 M5 in February of 2015. I was able to get around 20% off. My lease payment is 765/month on a 115k MSRP car. That is with only the 1st payment, dmv, and dealer fees. I did NOT do any MSD's.
Nice deal in the 14. What state are you in? Trying to do something similar with the 15s but NY keeps screwing me on taxes.

IMO, there's a sliver of possibility in that sentiment. However, that's a huge gamble given there're still plenty of 2016s available in the US inventory, and orders are being accepted for a few more months. Time is not in the side of 2015s. Also, as nice as the M5 is, it's no exotic - scarcity doesn't have much meaning with it.

It's possible they're waiting for BMW corporate to help them move left over inventory somehow in the form of kickbacks, reduced MF, or whatever else but I don't know if such things exist.

Either way, I find it crazy they're not dealing on 15s. There's even one dealer with *two* high MSRP 15s on their lot, and their discounts are meager, possibly even worse than one can get 16s for taking the MF/residual discrepancy into account.

I'd be curious to hear from any dealers in this forum, or someone that knows the ins and outs of this business, on their explanation of why 15s aren't being blown out.

Yeah, sounds silly for them to say that. Nothing of the sort was mentioned in my case, except the manual issue. I'm sure the manual isn't helping either, but at 105k asking price, that's not *the* reason it's not selling.

Ping BMW of Morristown - Mike Wendroff. His deal is very fair and straight to a line. I got my car from him and intend to get my next M car from him as well.

The original deal you posted OP does not add up. Your dealer is scamming you with a mad number. My MSRP was much higher than yours and my payment is decently lower than yours. Look up the lease vs buy calculator I posted a year or so ago. It should tell you your lease cost to within $5 of your actual payment.

Just got this offer what do you guys this?

114,795- 9% off= 104,463 - $1500 loyalty (if you qualify)= $ $102,963

Final sale price = 99,705.76
With 5500 down that’s 963.60 BEFORE NJ taxes on a lease.
Total with NJ sales tax is 1062.72/mo

Thoughts?

Is this for a 2015 or 2016? It looks like 2016 based on your lease numbers, in which case it's a great deal. They gave you another $3k off from 102.9k? You could do max MSDs and put your payment at 943/mo with tax included.

How did you (or they) get $1500 loyalty? I thought it was $1000 rebate.

Not entirely sure tbh. I am just hoping the the numbers add up when the papers get drawn up. Its a 2016 on the lot black on black in stick.

Nice, this looks great! How do you go from 102 to 99 and options did you get? I ran the numbers and it looks like it adds up.

Corrected. Most of the numbers make sense except the down payment. Did they itemize out the $5500 down? What are they charging you for a doc fee?
Should be 1st $963 + acquisition fee $925 + tax $2425(approx) = $4313.xx
Are they charging you a $1200 doc fee?

NJ charges a 0.4% luxury tax surcharge on top of the 7% sales tax. Then there's also the DMV fee. But yeah, I always ask them to itemize the upfront.

By the way, $1500 loyalty appears to be for the 6 and 7 series as well as i8 models, but 5 series is $1000.

Got it that makes sense. I would see if BMWFS would let you capitalize the sales tax for a couple reasons. Your payment would be slightly higher but not by much.
One you wouldn't have to come out of pocket for the sales tax and if you decide to get out of your lease early you've only paid for what you've used.
Here's how it looks both ways:
