Lack of B&O and possible options

Picked up a '16 M5 CP 6spd earlier this year after 7-8 months of searching. My only requirements were manual, dark interior/ext and CP. When I finally found it still had the original warranty and was CPO but didn't have B&O (interestingly the single owner vehicle coming off lease had Dinan coil overs ). Anyway, given how often people rave about the B&O I was wondering if this group had any recs for a good aftermarket set of speakers to have installed? Not looking to recreate a high schooler with two 12's in the trunk (there was a time and place for that...) but something that could be a good replacement option. Appreciate the help

I haven't looked too much into aftermarket components for the F10 M5 (mine has the B&O which I am satisfied with), but I believe Focal JM Lab (my preferred brand for home and automotive) offer a drop in speaker set which could be a reasonable option for you.

BSW - Bavsound, is usually a good source for speaker upgrades. Maybe peruse their website to see what they offer.

Can you confirm who actually makes the Bavsound speaker drivers DL7?

+1 on a full bavsound, sounds better than B&O imo after they break in.

I did similar (Earthquake under seat) in my E60. How bad is the under seat install on the F10?

IMO the B&O sounds underwhelming on the standard EQ settings (which is pretty poor when you think about it). Some tweaking of the EQ makes a huge difference however and once done the B&O sound system is actually quite decent.

Speakers and subwoofer? I'm not looking to have anything crazy. Are the subs "too much"?

yep, subs are not too much at all. they created the speaker setup for balance, not in your face bass

Fast.F10 this gives a good overview of what is involved with the sub replacement on an F10. There is some debate over whether it is necessary to replace the seat bolts.

Seat bolts are generally considered to be single use only (due primarily to the potential of stretching under repeated torquing). Not sure that the risk would be that great though if you're only removing them once and are torquing them to the appropriate spec. If you were to remove them several times you probably should replace them though.

B&O sounds good with EQ changes but is still lacking in the bass department, I understand some people just drop in aftermarket subs and it usually resolves the problem.

My point though is that not having B&O should not be a deal breaker when you can do full bavsound for $1300.

Not wanting to hijack this thread (I've potentially already taken it too far away from the OP's original question - apologies) but I do not find the B&O to be lacking in bass at all - to the contrary, it's got plenty.

Not at all, love to hear the input. Since I bought my car as the second owner and wanted a manual I have to live without everything I'd like. I special ordered my '13 Audi S4 manual with B&O and great sound. Like hearing the groups' input.
