I don't know what "facts" to trust in the article.

Claimed 190mph top speed?

They claim 90lbs of weight reduction. Where is that coming from? The wheels and suspension pieces? It is my understanding that they fit 285s in the front and 305s in the rear on those wheels....which negates the lighter wheels (per Dinan site: 22lbs front and 23lbs rear)

The carbon fiber intakes I though uses the same bottom of the air box but adds the carbon fiber tops and runners from the front of the hood (lincluding a mounting bracket).

To me 90lbs seems VERY optimistic.

I was thinking the exact same things Tom. There's too many inconsistencies in the article.

They must be thinking 90lbs loss comes from just the axle back Dinan exhaust. You know cause each stock muffler weighs 45lbs. Lol!

This dinan tune seems to be the bargain of the century.

90 lb?

looks like 187 lb reduction if it only weighs 4200

forget about the facts. I was just wondering if it was a package I should go for or not? At the moment my car has been completely stock and I have been wanting more power and better suspension. I liked the fact that I maintain warranty with the Dinan package, but I know some of you recommend something else. Can anyone recommend a list of mods to do the same as the dinan package but at a cheaper price and better outcome?

I don't know about better outcome but kW has a suspension package and of course bms has a piggy box. This is cheaper but the verdict is not out yet on the dinan. My friend spinny and I will be testing his dinan setup in a few days. We are hoping for good numbers from his car. Everyone's cars and parts differ so you will have to decide how much you want to donate to the money pit cause. I'm sure you will make the right choice.

Please let me know the feedback on the dinan setup when you find out. Really keen on pulling the trigger soon on an aftermarket ECU, suspensions, and throttle

is the dinan suspension upgrade just a stiffer spring and lower ride height or is it a coilover that allows you to change dampening and other components. Since I like the car is setup, just slightly stiffer will do the job rather than a full on coilover.

Hi Shahano,

Here are a few bullet points on our coilover kit for the M5:
+ Threaded collars allow easy and precise front & rear vehicle height adjustments.
+ Up to 1 1/4” of lowering is possible depending on tire clearance although ¾” drop is recommended to maintain ride quality.
+ Spring rates are 15% stiffer for both front and rear.
+ Substantial reduction in body roll.
+ Included suspension packers allow adjustment of bump-stop clearance to fine-tune handling and comfort.
+ Dinan-spec progressive bump stops improve ride quality at lowered ride heights.
+ Compatible with BMW EDC shocks.

We're having a 15% off sale this month as well, so now is definitely the time to buy! Let us know if you have any questions!

+1 the suspension upgrade is the most notable part of my S1. It is perfectly suited for the M5, not bumpy at all and body roll is almost nil. I was happy with the CP setup but this is one step ahead.

@boots will be driving my car when i get back state side in a few weeks and can comment on the difference.

Very happy !

I would second that. Lowered ride height with very close to stock ride. Less body roll and better responsiveness. Highly recommended

We did some runs a few weeks ago. Dinan took the trophy. ( BMS set to 3 from my understanding) vids are posted in the southwest section.

As far as feel I can't say because the car was gone for some many months that my memory of how a BMS tune felt bs stock was faded. @boots has BMS and we are going to run and swap cars as well in a few weeks. We will post a more detailed write up soon.

I haven't tried the Dinan in the M5 but run the BMS tune now and have been very happy with it.. With Dinan being a piggyback also I didn't think it would be too much of a difference over the BMS, interested in hearing your experience after you swap..
