675 - 689 HP for M5 now available
Just saw this:
http://autoweek.com/article/car-news...ass-horsepower I checked out the Dinan site and found that CP equipped cars can be tuned up to 689. Didn't have a lot of time to browse around, but I didn't see anything about torque improvements. Pretty affordable actually and I had no idea that Dinan is located in the Bay Area . . . intriguing.

"DINANTRONICS system bumps total output to 675 horsepower and 644 lb-ft of torque."
It says you need to do the intake, ECU and exhaust for full power gains. Right around $10k. ECU only is just under $4k.

Dinan P1 package runs $8,772.30 which includes
Stage 2 Dinantronic piggy back, intake, Exhaust http://dinancars.com/product/f10-m5-...ries&mid=1163/ Dinan S1 package runs $10,255.50 which includes: P1 package + suspension, pedals + S1 under hood plaque and trunk badge http://dinancars.com/product/f10-m5-...ries&mid=1163/ I think it's good package but cost a lot (when you have to think about the installation on top of it) P1 package + front/rear sway upgrade (another 1k on top...) will be the ultimate Dinan ride.

The Dinan website s1 pkg has a mistake, it does not include the sways that are part of the pkg ( as I understand it) . This brings the price up. Note that the price does not included any of the labor or alignment cost.
I have not driven the car yet but the wife is sure enjoying it =p

Not lovin' that S1 badge on the side. I think it would look better on the rear deck, next to the Dinan badge.

Dinan does make some good products most of the time, but they are way overpriced. $3,000 just for an axle-back exhaust?! It was the same with the E60 M5. They want you to mainly pay for the name, even though they claim warranty with their products. I haven't heard of too many people with a destroyed S63tu engine because of a Dinan tune where Dinan actually paid for the costs to replace a $40,000 engine. Lol! IMO the best products from Dinan for the Fxx M5/M6 are the negative upper control arms, swaybars, and their wheels are very very good too. Their tune I wouldn't pay anything over $600 bucks for though, but they did have to pay all of the costs to CARB for emissions certification though, so that's part of where the cost comes from.

I don't like Dinan stuff but I like Spinny02 so I will pass out of respect to Spinny02 -
Hope you Enjoy it Spinny02 I love the Mufflers - they are getting louder day after day ! But again the way Dinan paid attention to packaging the Mufflers must tell something about their respect to their customers for sure because if they do this with NON CUSTOMERS - they must have pride in their product and brand and for a reason ! |

Steve is very much involved with operations. Steve was directly involved with my build. He called me directly a handful of times to explain the r&d process, progress, and after test drives he made. Great experience.
