Awesome! Thanks for sending this.

Just read through it. Looks like M5 probably makes the most sense for me.

Impressive garage at 25! What's your favorite? Notice you flip through cars pretty often.

Thanks!

My favorite might be a threeway tie between my old 14' GT3, 17' GT350, NSX.. as they are great drivers cars! I feel fortunate in my current financial situation to have the ability to change cars often!

35 M6GC here. Bought my E90 M3 at 28. All preowned.

Looking at the responses, I tend to be under the average age for the M5/6 and over the average age for the M3.

I suppose people making jumps within the M range has an intermediate car of another brand they go to before going to the M5/6

Mid-20's currently as I'm looking to upgrade to my first M by next year.

Like others has stated, this is an interesting thread. And from my perspective (being on the younger side) is that its all about what lifestyle you have. I've gone to college and got my degree in Computer Information Science and my job pays well so for me, I know I can afford it. I want to get one before I settle down and have kids. At that point, my priorities might change.

I'd say that's a good call. Bought my first M right after I bought my first home. And then bought my first investment property soon after.

Speaking of...my first kid was born 3 days ago. This is on another level man. It's like going from a Civic to an M3.

Don't think I have ever been this sleep deprived in my life, even having gone through medical school & residency.

Up until his birth I was dreaming about driving my car to/from work, would just drive around aimlessly, and looking upgrading to M5s & M6GC. Now, other than reading these forums as an escape, I'm either passed out or changing wrecked diapers of epic proportions.

bruh!

Firstly, congrats. Secondly, 3 days ago? How are you possibly on the internet surfing?

Finally - You're right. I had my first kid 2 years ago. For a month, I didn't even drive my car as I was home with my wife. To be honest, it all started when I got my M3 10 years ago, well before I even got married. Once I started making more money to buy my toys, I've gotten busier. I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've gone out by myself and just drove my car for the fun of driving.

And that's just my car. Forget Xbox! I bought the XboxOne, and turned it on less than 5 times over the last 2 years.

Fast forward to today. Last week I just purchased a M6 GC. My wife is due with our 2nd kid in 25 days. I don't anticipate driving my car in any significant way until June 2018 at this rate!

And btw, anyone want to buy my Xbox?

Thanks man. Congrats to you as well! That's amazing! I can't even begin to think about a second, but I know that'll be me eventually.

The forums app is my sanity. I go back to work next week. This little guy is apparently calm/collected from what my family is all telling me, but I'm still on the struggle-bus!

Need to hit a day/night routine asap so I can go back to having ambition/life goals rather than living in perpetual fear of the next full diaper.

I didn't get a consistent full night of sleep until month 7... When the kid doesn't have to wake up in the middle of the night to nurse, that's when it's downhill from there. Of course, that's just the waking up b/c of hungry. There's still the fact the kid will just wake up...that's from month 7 to month 11 or so.

Congratulations on your first kid! (I don't have any but I know its a great achievement).

That's kind of what my girlfriend is trying to get me to get all this car stuff out of my system before kids but I keep telling her that isn't happening (I think). That being said, I did put away my coilovers and performance upgrade plan to get an engagement ring recently so life is starting to change.

Congrats on the baby! 3 kids here, one already driving; it goes by so quick. Enjoy every minute of it!

Your perspective on many things in this life will be vastly different with the arrival of a child.

Good luck!

Life is too short

46 y/o. Started with new 2001 330I, upgraded to new 2007 335I (still daily driver), then 2013 M5. All great cars. Life is too short to drink bad wine and drive boring cars. You can't take the money with you.

The kicker is I'm in financial planning now! But as long as you're not financing a depreciating asset; most 20-something year olds are earning $75k-$100k+ out of college.

It's my second year in the work force and my take home this year will be just shy of $190k. I plan on using my year-end bonus on the deposit for the F90.
still reading through the posts here but a lot of this i think comes down to priorities. you made a ton of money on bitcoin and valued having the car you wanted so you went and got it. i'm not ashamed to admit i lived at home until 1.5 years before getting married at 31 but i saved 50% of my take home pay and invested it. i now have over 600K invested and it's growing at 5-10% per year, compounding. i also own a condo and a house (both mortgaged so i don't own them outright). so i'm checking out a 2014 M5 but now that i have all this money invested and growing, i can't bring myself to take out 50K or so to get the car lol because i think about how much interest i am losing. so while the cost of buying one of these in your 20s is massive when you factor in the foregone interest... i mean you at least got to drive one when it probably mattered most to you and you're not in my boat where you definitely have the means to get the car but are too cheap to actually buy it lol.

anyway just my 2 cents. glad to see everyone is getting along i'm 36 btw.

You're absolutely correct in your points. Had I not been a buffoon and held onto my investment, I could buy a dozen M5s, but that's a moot point. Opportunity cost will always be a bitch.

I'm with you about having money work for you. I got into real estate and now money is like a game. The more money you have, the higher the score.

It's hard to be patient and I can go pick up a CPO M5 right now, but like you said, real estate is just too juicy. I can wait until the F90 drops as I planned my budget for it already.

As far as the getting along part... There's a ton of jackasses on here, depending on which perspective you're looking at. You levering up via real estate or throw you money into the markets?
