Drivetrain Malfunction
Well, it happened to me today on the way to work (first of hopefully not any more)...and I apologize if I caused any commute headaches to my fellow Houston peeps. Car totally stalled out on IH-610 (West Loop) in the middle lane on the Westheimer overpass at 6:40 AM. Needless to say I was not the most popular Frozen Red M5 stuck on the freeway in H-Town this morning.
Fun fact...no one was able to get the car into N and it had to be dragged on the flatbed with the back tires locked. Got it to the dealership and the tech that came out tried a couple of times to start it and he is of the opinion that it is fuel pump related. Just finished reading all of the HPFP issues over the last 20 minutes and it looks (so far) as if I'm the next one with to have been bitten by the fuel pump bug. 2013 F10 M5 bone stock. Will update as I get them

Got the car back today after having the low pressure fuel pump replaced.
Anyone know why this would happen after only 11K miles?

Thanks for the reply and I concur. I guess on the bonus side of things, they replaced my battery while it was in. Oh well, TGForW(arranty)!

My fuel pumps went out at around 3k. Lucky I just around the corner from my home and made it back. No problems after they replaced them. Yea quit backing up the Frwy man. I knew it was you that day. Lol glad you got it fixed.

What you have to do to get it into N is to crank it and jiggle the shifter when it sounds like it might fire. If it starts for just a second, and it will, then you get it to N and it can be put on the trailer. |

Lol...I felt like the biggest tool sitting there clogging up Houston that morning. Service manager at Momentum recognized my car when Transtar zoomed in on me. I haven't seen too many Frozen Red M5's around here yet.
