The new beast arrives!

Well after a two month wait, she has finally arrived.

2015 M5 Sakhir on Sakhir full leather.

WoW!, I took a massive leap of faith when doing the spec, I had never seen Sakhir Orange Metallic in person. I also knew that most photographs tended to over saturate it making it more red than orange. I also noticed that almost 99% of the Sakhir M5’s tended to be dressed in black. By that I mean, wheels, side grills etc etc.

Personally not my cup of tea, I just can’t get my head around black wheels.

During the spec stage at the dealership, we used a 42” screen to configure it.

One of the things that struck me was the shadow line. Great if going for the black option, but I knew I wasn’t.

Looking at the car side on it struck me that with the chrome in the side vents and also on the door handles an option would be to continue this theme by changing the shadow line to chrome as well, thus I opted for brushed satin.

A quick glance at the pics and you will see I also opted for the 19’s as opposed to the 20’s. Why? Well firstly, I like the look and style, but more importantly I feel 19’s perform on UK roads better. Not a direct comparison but one none the less, on my 640 I had 20’s and switched them out to 19’s and the ride quality improved dramatically.

So on to a few mods that will be done ASAP.

Front McRae Splitters – I have then here in Carbon Fibre, but may colour key them, not sure yet.
Rear centre diffuser, I again have a 3 fin Carbon one. If I decide to leave the front carbon, I will leave this as well. If not this might get colour keyed as well.
M Performance foot rest and pedals
Possible change of interior trim to Carbon fibre - not sure yet, but I do like the look.
Side grills and door handles, changed to satin chrome along with the front grill – still searching for these but might have to have them made.

Anyway enough already, here’s a few pics during the PDI, I’ll get some better ones when she’s back home.

Sick, congrats on the new acquisition, ballsy move on the window trim lol. I understand when people want to keep the rest of the trim on the car chrome, but I feel like the black window trim compliments itself by making the windows seem larger and more full.

Would love to see what the colormatched splitters & diffuser would look like !

Thank you! Someone who also feels the way that I do about black wheels. Black wheels belong on a Lamborghini not a BMW! LOL!

I would have went for the Black Trim around the windows though. I guess you and Blue.Thunder have a lot in common as the only two dudes to opt for the Chrome Trim around the windows. Also great choice on the 19" wheels! Looks great!

2017 for this model with the new one replacing it at some point in the latter half of the year so I'm told, but hey that could all change.


So 29 miles on the clock and 1st mod done!

3 fin Carbon Composite lower centre diffuser. Think I've decided to leave it Carbon, but still considering colour keying it in Sakhir. Thoughts?

Standard, don't want to upset it and I like the way she stands at the moment.

Re the splitters, I know, I've test fitted them, but I just don't know if she needs it. The front is clean as it is. I might hold off for a while and re look at it again, but that could All change by the morning lol.
