I knew most of those but the ones I didn't were interesting.

I got sucked into a vortex on that site and read the interesting facts about Lego and Lambo as well. I learned a whole bunch today. Thanks!

This one is complete bollocks.

Quote:
4. Everyone thinks that the iconic logo is of a spinning airplane propeller. They're wrong. Contrary to popular belief, the logo never graced a propeller until the marketing team put it there in 1929 to promote the company's airplane heritage.
They've conflated the logo being on a propeller with it representing a spinning propeller. And on this one they're absolutely wrong.

How many of the others are bullshit, too?

Actually BMW has acknowledged that the propeller thing is false as well.

The colors are from the flag of Bavaria but had to be put in a different order as it's illegal to use the flag for advertisement (similar to the American flag).

Disagree. And the flag-colour claim is just bullshit. Look at the Porsche emblem.

To put a finer point on the bullshit claim about emblems not being allowed to have the flag's colors in the same order:

LOL at the "BMW has been building electric cars for 40 years." Really? LOL.

Uh, no they haven't.

And the HQ building, what 4-cylinder engine block has two parallel banks of 2 cylinders. Dual crankshaft design I suppose. Not sure which BMW model that engine was used in. Never got that one.

Next they'll claim they came up with the concept of an all-plastic bodied car on rolling space-frame chassis that was going to bring in a new era of automotive design and manufacturing...

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

The Porsche emblem proves nothing as it features the coat of arms and flag colors of a state that hasn't existed in nearly 100 years so it's fair game.

The image you chose just perfectly disproved your point.

The logo is not based on the German flag at all: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche#Company_logo

A careful reading of what you wrote would help you understand what you said. Alas, you have already forgotten. Here's a reminder:

Colors. In a different order. Flag.

Duh.

Wrong.
Quite amazing that some 80+ years later, there are still firm believers of the propeller myth.
I guess this is just a testament of BMW's successful marketing.
