It was mostly highway, but during my stay in Napa I was doing street driving. Couldn't have been more than 150 miles! I know, great gas mileage!

What an awesome write up and trip; love your dog too wouldn't want to see the state of the paint after getting those bugs off though, time for a polish! Amazing MPG; my 523 would only manage a bit better than that in Europe!

Pasha is such a behaved dog! Glad she was so calm during the long drives

The key with Pasha, is that she needs her exercise. As long as I gave her a good 10 minute sprint chasing the Frisbee (twice a day), she would be good sleeping in the back, the rest of the time with very little movement. I had conditioned her with treats for about a month in the back seat, and she treated it as her Den. She learned very early on that an M5 is not a car to stand up in! Every time I would punch it even a little and if she was standing, she would get plastered on the back seat so she learned to lay down for safety. I also had a seatbelt/ harness for her that would latch into the latch system of the car so she would not become a projectile as I braked hard from Mach 5.

Thanks again to everyone for sharing in my trip with me. I truly enjoyed the trip and might do something similar next year as dog training is a never ending hobby and no better place than Michael Ellis school. My M5 looks brand new, although I put her through her paces and spanked her limiter a couple of times. Next time, I will go through the midwest through the Dakotas, Pacific Northwest and down to Napa. I am already looking forward to it.
