I must have deleted my photo as I can't find it. I've had 31mpg while driving 16 miles on a not always straight 60mph road.
I was very impressed, I would imagine if driven like a granny on the motorway you would see 33-34. |

On my normal drive to work i get around 30.5, this is 20 miles with 16 on the motorway, usually about 60mph due to traffic. I had a CL500 before and never got more than 28 so very impressive.

Not at all. If you dont reset your mpg counter then it will be hard for the cars average to change much. Mine stays at 17mpg all the time because I usually drive in town and hoon out of town. If I reset it before I go on a journey it will work out the average of that trip only. It will be at 30 by the time you reach your destination.

I don't reset mine anymore either. 1 because I rarely go on long journeys, 2 because I dont really care what it's doing to the gallon, It's an M5 afterall. It is nice to see that the Big M can do low 30s though every now and again.

i can't honestly see myself poodling along at 50-60 mph on a motorway or dual carriageway to get 30mpg or a bit above unless I was low on fuel looking for a petrol station.

I had Meisterschaft muffler + mid-pipes installed shortly after I got the car in Nov '18 & then added Meisterschaft catless DP & a stage 2 BM3 this summer. I've been thinking lately that it feels like the car is using fuel like crazy. It'll be good to see what it is now. |

Note that if you're in UK your gallon is bigger.
10l/100km = 28.25 Imperial gallons = 23.5 US gallons. I find that if I cruise at 95kmh I can get down to about 8.5l/100km which is 33.2 imp gal and 27.7 us gal

When I drove home after picking up the car, I managed 9l/100km / 26mpg
My normal daily driving I typically see 12-13l/100km / 18-20mpg. That is normal driving in the Efficient program that the car default starts up with. Tuned my previous car and saw a significant drop in consumption, planning on doing the same with this car. |

Hi - Can anyone provide instructions on how to actually get the MPG display to show up on the dash? I've fiddled with the settings and did a quick Google search, but I haven't found something that tells me how to do this for an F10 M5. Thanks in advance.

The mpg readout is displayed by pressing the buttons on the indicator stalk until mpg shows up. If you're referring to the actual gauge that replaces the sport plus display then you change than in the I-drive, I can't remember the exact way to do it but its self explanatory when you get in there.

The current reading is at 12.6 mpg, which is below the 14 city / 20 hwy and comparatively awful to others in this thread. |
