V12, although not strictly on topic, have you coded & tested the 'glarefree' function features on any cars without LEDs? If so, did you notice any discernible difference in the quality of the lighting between the LEDs & the Xenons, for example sharper edge to the lights, etc.?

Hi - I haven't tried (yet). If that's what you have, I'd be interested in pocking around (to deny my feeling that it won't be possible). |

I have a UK spec car (the rare LCI with Xenons) so the glarefree should be configured as std (haven't tried it yet). May have to get the GoPro out and go for a night drive Just thought I'd ask about the difference between LED & Xenon lighting quality as your more likely to have an informed view through your coding work, although I'm getting a feeling that most in US will spec LEDs. Dionysus,
One thing I can tell you is that the light quality of the LEDS is alot better than I expect over the Xenons. I had my M3 with Xenons out a few nights ago on the motorway and really noticed that the light was not as good. I honestly thought there would be no difference in them but there is a lot of difference. Neil.

$2K is a bargain - £1495 option from new just for the LEDs in UK. We need an IND over here! |

Most impressive hands down...
But always with these features which use a constantly working electric engine I wonder... will they last? having to work so much time? Dunno why, these things always seem to me like low reliability gadgets... |

Thanks to V12 for getting my car set-up. He was able to enable the glare-free function on my LCI with highbeam assistant only. Seems to work as advertised. Thanks again!

Hey V12.. sorry if this is a duplicate message for you, but I wanted to see if you could help me (or direct me to a source) to get the full functionality of the adaptive LED headlights on my 2014 5 series?

So, let me make sure I am on the same page.
I understsand in the US, the highbeam has to be turned on manually. But are you saying, the 'glarefree' function of the adaptive LED isn't even turned on in US cars? |

Yes. Present government regulations do not allow the functionality.

You need to code it. there is a forum in 6post about this function and a guy claimed the coding for this..

Once coded, the high beams do much much more. The full adaptive doesn't shut the high beams off in most cases, instead it uses beam steering and shaping to change the positions of the high beams to not blind the car you pass or come up from behind on... once past the other cars, they rethrow out to their full power
