Dinan vs Competition Package
My question is similar. I have an e39 M5 with many mods. I have $70,000 and want to either purchase a 07/2012 M5 for $50,000 and add $20,000 of Dinan stuff or buy a $70,000 2014 M5 with Competition Package. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of how these two would compare?

You can definitely jump straight to stage 2. I believe Dinan would recommend CAI and exhaust to maximize gains from the stage 2. Though, I really don't know how much is really gained (that you'd notice) by the CAI and some mufflers. Stage 2 is definitely noticeable! Catless was noticeable in that throttle response became better...

As for price negotiation; you can always ask though I'm not sure if you'll get much. Dinan is really expensive anyway compared to other options. I value the warranty and maybe resale someday. Flash tune was not available when I had the Dinan tune installed... |

There are pros and cons to both of these options. It really depends on your wants/needs. As for the comparison.. I've driven the new comp package and I own a 2013 with stage 2 Dinan, suspension, catless, CAI etc. If your question is about performance. There is no question. The tuned M5 is a different car in so many ways. Again... What are your preferences? I do love the LCI headlights, steering wheel etc in the newer models. Next project for me is a steering wheel retrofit. I already bought the airbag...haha |

Is Flash tune another Dinan product or an alternative?

Car is under warranty. What iam trying to get at is, why choose dinan over say the jb4? From what i understand, bmw does not cover dinan. Dinan covers dinan. So why spend the premium?
