M5 Sport Display (Torque/Power) - Memory Buttonable?
I really like having the Sport Display Power and Torque dials up on the head unit display while driving. While it may be a novelty that someday wears off.. it beats looking at the Navigation or Satellite Radio information all the time.
Question: Has anyone figured out how to program the Sport Display in to one of the 1 thru 8 memory buttons for easy access? I searched the board and could not locate any information. Bonus Question: Has anyone figured out how to run a split screen of both Sport Display and Tire Monitors? Loving the M5! - such a nice upgrade in both the luxury and power categories compared to the E92 M3.

I think you need to go to the menu and get to the point where you are going to click sport display, but don't open it. then press any of 1-8 button for couple seconds, it will be stored.

Wait... I think I know what screen you're referring to, seeing it on some loaner vehicles, but I didn't realize you could see it on the M5. Where in the iDrive menu is this located?

It looks like I can enter quite a few views in to the split screen, including some BMW Widgets available online. No tire pressure and temperature views though (yet). I wonder if/how we can store more cool views in to the online BMW Widgets server

My M5 is a 2015. The Sport display is a cool feature.. and would be even better if you could view w/split screen TPMS of tire pressure and temp. For pre-2015, I wonder if BMW could solve by adding to a future iDrive update or coding? Or asking the your local dealer if they can add it.. ? Note: For those that have an '15 M5 with the Sport display, I love how the torque and power jump way over the advertised Torque and HP rating of the car. Who knows if/what is accurate.. it's still pretty cool

What?!? I want this...
Surely it's doable with updating psdzdata to the latest version, I had to do that last year after retrofitting the touch idrive knob. |

This can be coded on a 6 so I am sure it can be done on the M5. But I doubt the dealer will do it. Search the coding threads for assistance, procedures and other changes you can make.

I'll try to capture a video this weekend and post.
Do I need to post to YouTube and link to there, or can we upload vids here like pics? Last edited by Seanmag; 01-23-2015 at 05:03 PM.. Reason: edit |
