I decided not to do Stelvio this time around (picking up 10/10) and rather do a number of the Swiss alp passes (Susten, Furka, St Gothard, Oberalp Pass, Grimsel Pass, etc) also plan to do the Silvretta pass again as it's a great stretch of road with perfect surface

The Black Forest road is great and certainly a better choice if the weather doesn't co-operate, also you'd be close to Stuttgart and could visit the Porsche Museum and Daimler, Audi etc
Gents... I did Grossglockner, Stelvio, most of the swiss passes listed above, and the black forest road. GG and BF were both fogged out but nice roads nevertheless. Stelvio was interesting, but a crappy road, and not sure I would do it solo.

The swiss passes, though? they were definitely the best, and the smoothest roads --- in case you missed it, here is my 8x speed trip through st. gotthard and susten. I cant speak to what the weather will be, but there are plenty of websites that can.

You said Susten was the best correct?

Congrats! We had the same issue re: elevator, we were pushed from 10AM to 4PM. That was fine as we got a chance to do the factory tour.

How awesome is their waiting area? Beer and meat everywhere!

Happy Day

The pic with the man in the white coat is Karl-Otto Noelle of Noelle Motorsport's. He is a legend for tuning BMW's and retired CEO of Alpina. The people at the Welt Delivery actied like a rock star had entered the delivery lounge. He saved me a bit of a drive and hand delivered the BMW modified 400/300 cel downpipes to the Welt. . Great guy and i was honored to meet him.

Dude that looks awesome! Glad to see they gave you the Gucci parking spot in Tremezzo.

Has the weather stayed clear in the passes? When do you hit your break-in?

I had to pay extra for the green and red stripes... We were just parking for a few min. I had them stick her in the garage so people would not put finger prints everywhere. Thanks for the app i loaded the cheetah with the US maps and it wont update on my Mac on PC, even with Bootcamp =(. I am sure i have A LOT of tickets =(. We followed a group of cars racing in some tunnels on the other side of the lake and hit ludicrous speeds sure hope there were no cameras there too. IT WAS FUN.

Passes have all been fogged in.

The break in is in Baden Baden on friday.. I will be about 500km short so I will have find a Autobahn or cross my fingers that they will do it.

Tried the black forest yesterday and found an AMAZING back road. I will post a map of it in the write up HIGHLY recommended. Once we hit the top it was night and 100% fog and took us much longer than it should of to get to our hotel.

I was 500km short for my 2000km break in so I woke up at 6am and took her for 2.5 hr spin on the A5 stuck to 170kph max and ended up with 1750km.

The service was done at AhG BMW in Baden Baden this afternoon. Can wait to take her back out on the Autobahn.

hey make sure you have harry's laptimer app on your iphone, and running when you do your Nurburgring laps... you will want that data later (if nothing else than to know what time your laps where when you search through all the pro photos)
