PPI - looking for insight on the results

Hi Guys,

See attached. Appreciate the font is a little bit small.

Any insight? Big thing that jumped out to me, is the front bumper is fully cracked and needs to be replaced.

Could more than likely be repaired (particularly given that the main damage is on the underside), but I agree, not a good look.

How many miles/KMs on this one?

Any other pics to share?

Based on the condition of the front bumper it certainly looks a little rough to say the least..

Only 22.4k miles actually. Bumper is just brutal.

Amazed the seller didn’t repair.

These cars ride pretty low so not too surprised. I had my bumper repaired and it only took a few days before my wife entered a parking lot a little too fast and scrubbed the bottom of the front bumper again.

I'd google the vin number to do image checks for unreported accidents. If the vin went through an auction like coparts it should have photos. Carfax is helpful but has its limits. I'd find an independent indy BMW/Euro car shop to check it out. Look for mods to the DME programming and dig for unusual sounds/wear etc.

You may have a choice car here but you could just as easily have a car ready to throw a rod or seize a rod bearing. But if you are getting this at a good price point and have some room to do some preventative engine work such as rod bearing you should be good. The car on the surface looks very nice.

Also, do a https://www.mdecoder.com/ lookup to make sure you still have the spec'd equipment in it.

I never thought to google the vin. Just did. Looks like price has bounced around a good bit. The selling dealer bought the car at auction in early December…

Seller is at $35.9k. Mechanical work required is $1,500.

What bothers me, is the front bumper. From what I can tell (and I had a body shop look at pictures), it needs replacing. That’s $1,400 before labor and paint if you go OEM (probably $2,500 all in). One of the calipers needs repainting as well.

Also need to buy a second key fob. Anyone have a view on whether the proposed price is good value?

Many thanks.

Body shop just wants the unnecessary work and money, that's an easy repair with a dab of filler for the crack and after a good rub down white primer then a few coats of colour. After a week blend into main paintwork.

Pricing agreed $34,250. At that level, I think it was pretty well bought?

Mine had chips and cracks repaired which required some plastic welding in the end the cost was about the same as buying a new one and having it prepped and sprayed.

At $34,250 - I’m OK getting a new bumper, and having it repainted.

I neglected to mention it comes with a Meisterschaft stainless steel exhaust (~$3,400) installed, and the standard exhaust comes with it as well (in a box).

I'd be checking the mechanical stuff with these, the bodywork is going to likely need stuff doing at this age of car and mileage. What's the service history like?

Service history is pretty good. There is one 5k mile gap, but from then on, it was serviced by bmw dealerships.

The mechanic (BMW indi), said he was comfortable with what he saw.

I’m pricing in $3,500 in cosmetic work.

Feel like this is a bit unfair? Bar the AC condenser, seems like the car is fairly trouble free?

Everyone has a different story! I’m hoping to take delivery next week.

Red shirt in the vid was obviously the wrong choice to try one of these as well as the winch man who was guessing, don't worry I've had mine 7 years and its going like a train. New AC condenser of course under warranty and fresh plugs over that time were the only main service items I needed, rear tyres and brakes you control.
