Creaking doors and bumper dinged

It's been a rough week for the M.
2200 miles in and someone backed into my parked car! No note, nothing. Security video was too dark (at night) to make out anything. Luckily it's only paint damage but will probably require a re-spray of the whole bumper.

This week also started weird noises in the interior. First is noise like a marble is moving in the dash. It slides back and forth in the turns and sounds like its coming from inside just under the windshield.

Next it both front doors sound like they are creaking when the car is in motion. It's not present at a stop but creaks audibly otherwise. At first I thought the sound was the leather in the doors stretching but now think maybe the doors need to be. "tightened". I don't know...kinda of frustrating.

I'm going to take it in when I get a chance but was wondering anyone else experience the same thing (except the bumper)?

I have the creaking door issue too. On passenger side. Let me know if you resolve it. The other issue I have is a rattle in the passenger rear. I haven't been able to isolate that.

I'm hoping its just a matter of adjusting or conditioning the sills for the door creaking.

I had this issue as well. I used gummi pflege on the door seals and the creaks went away.

I have the same creaking sound, but mine is coming from the moon roof, not the doors. I open the moon roof just a little and the sound disappears. Haven't had it checked out yet.

conditioning the seals eliminated the creaking noise for me!

I can vouch for the gummpfledge as well. Apply to the rubber seals and it goes away. Also avoid putting any polish or similar on the metal body work where these rubber seals contact when the door is closed, that might not help matters.

Don't use any silicon spray either.

Yes, it does. Unfortunately, the sound always returns.

Until I get it checked out, I keep the moon roof shade closed so I don't hear the creaking sound.

It's pretty common for cars to make various squeaking and rattling noises in different interior areas, and these often vary with the temperature.

I stopped obsessing about this minor stuff long ago - it's prevalent, and the cure is often worse than the disease... I wouldn't do anything about interior squeaks and rattles unless they were really bad, or very easily fixable without risk of collateral damage.

Hi Chaps,
Imo, it is not the rubber seals causing the creaking you hear, either from the doors, or the sun roof. It is the felt strips, that run along the top of the doors edge. Similarly, the sunroof will have this felt strip, running around its edge. I first had this in 2006 on a Ford Focus i had, it sounded like an old ship, creaking in the wind, and spent a long time tracking down the problem. If you use any silicone lubricant, or equivilent, on these felt strips, the creaking will dissapear. I sprayed some lubricant into a cup, then brushed it onto the felt strips, and the noise dissapeared. It may take a couple of applications, but it is definately this that causes the creaking, hope this helps, regards, SIMON.

Same issue here. Has anyone had luck finding where do those rear interior rattling sounds come from?
