Diff replacement options

It seems likely that I'm going to need to replace the diff on my 2013 Competition Pack M5.

Does anyone here have any experience with any aftermarket options like Wavetrac or Quaiffe. Is it worth exploring these options or should I stick with a new OE replacement diff?

Why do you think you need a new diff what’s going on with your M5?

The jury is still out on this.

Basically, on hard acceleration, the rear of the car becomes very unstable - with excessive body-roll (or left to right / right to left movement) being generated. The bushes on and around the rear axle appear to be fine.

About 2 years ago, I fitted a GAW diff brace and this exposed some diff whine when accelerating and a clunking sound from the rear of the car when going from drive into reverse.

Not sure what else may cause an issue like this but I'm first going to swop out my diff with one in a mate's M5 with a damaged engine to test.

I wonder if the brace may have caused some premature wear. In my head I would think no it wouldn’t, but I’ve never heard of anyone else having any diff issues. I’m sure there’s people out there that have though. I had a brace on my Audi S4’s diff and it didn’t hurt it ever but who knows.

When I did my @rkautowerks billet diff I found that it had a slight fluid leak so i had my indy shop Midnitetuning replace a seal and fluids. Look to see if you have any fluid even if a slight trail.
