I traded my 13 S4 for a 13 M5 few years ago and it was a big upgrade in every aspect. Go for it. I've never driven a RS7 so can't help you there.

Test numbers shows that the M5 will not be able to reel in RS7 Performance even at high speed roll, and so far there are no youtube videos on RS7 Performance in a rolling test with M5. |

My Audi dealer let me test drive a barely used RS7. My wife stayed behind b/c she knew I may go ape shit. He took it off the display floor and I drove it 8-10 miles on the freeway with some decent back roads. Hard to tell the exact miles because everything felt like warp speed. He then said, knock yourself out. So I did. amazingly he said nothing, except one thing. You wreck it, you buy it! First experience. It pulls like an angry bullet train and your neck definitely feels it. Getting pushed back that hard into your seat was amazing on just a stock car. On the curvy roads, it was planted on the road however the suspension wasn't as tight as a non-CP M6. I did some cornering that the car slide just a little as the sales guy was holding on for dear life. My preference are windy roads vs just straight ones. Being able to easily drift the back to try different cornering angles is my excitement of fun. With my skills, it's much harder on 4wd. Ultimately, I went with GC CP for the tighter suspension with plans to upgrade my ECU with a stage 1+ flash tune and bigger tires to to try and keep up with a RS7 on the long straights. You never know when I may need it. Also, the visual appeal of the sexy M6 vs the beast of the RS7 was the other weighting factor. To each there own. If I could afford it, I would buy them both!
