Do you really believe that a cheap cast piece can run 40 degrees cooler than a billet aluminum pan. Also, heat treating cast aluminum is unheard of. Almost all heat treating is done with T6-8 aluminum's.
Kris are you guys plaining gears or anything for the DCT and has anyone pushed the gears to breaking point I'm sure allmotor will find that spot with a built motor, GTR gears as I'm sure you know are fine between stock and 1000 and a few get lucky and have great success between 800-1200 but usually over 1000 its an if not when thing.

Being rear wheel drive, the transmission does not see the strain like an AWD system puts on it. We are working on the drive system at this time. You will see some cool things coming out in the next few months.

With all this talk of gearboxes failing or behaving strangely after time, im going to change my gearbox oil this weekend as im tuned etc to 800 at the crank..

-Can someone tell me whats best to use (BMW stock oil, or some uprated brand)
-Also does anyone know how much oil the standard gearbox takes in liters

We have been using the SSP Pro Gold for 10 years now on DCT cars. Our oil is a 90W Synthetic which offers excellent gear protection, friction modifiers for the clutch, and has excellent hydraulic properties.
The BMW factor fluid is a pretty good fluid if you don't plan on tracking the car much.
The factory transmission will hold 9.6 liters completely dry. A normal oil change will yield about 7 liters of fluid that will need to be added.

Hi Kris, since it's such an hassle to import SSP transmission oil in Hong Kong, other than factory oil what other brand would you recommend?

Motul also has good oil for DCT.
Motul Multi DCTF (Dual Clutch) 100% Synthetic

You may be able to unscrew the cover but the hall sensors are pretty deep so you can’t pull it out given the space in the tunnel.
