F10 M5 Beats Panamera Turbo S from a roll
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Once on the hwy though, the M5 should be the true king of luxury sedans. Kind of surprised that the extra $70K for the Porsche wouldn't get you a bit more straight-line speed. Or the M5 is just truly a beast. |

To be honest I find that hard to believe. Soundly beats it means by car lenghts. Pan S is a low 3 second car to sixty out of the hole and I know a roll is completely different but beating it soundly I doubt it.

OK, it would depend on how long you kept rolling. But they are both about 13 second 0-200 kph cars. The Panny does that by beating the M5 by .2-.4 tenths out of the hole because of the 4wd. Once you get traction, the M5 is the quicker car and will pull away.

The panamera is a much more track-focused (and expensive) car so it's not surprising it's faster around a track. The M5 is the same as an M5 always has been, big fast sedan that doesn't embarass itself on a racetrack. Something is always faster, and for most of its life since the mid '80's the M5 hasn't been the fastest 4-door around a racetrack. That's not the point.

A Panamera with AWD more track focused than a M5? Both are (way too)heavy pigs, my friend and the M5 beats the Panamera Turbo by a whole second on the Nordschleife.
