New M5 Owner - Progress Thread

[Automotive Goals]

I just traded in my 2016 Azurite Black M4 for a 2014 M5. It has been a little less than a week since I got the car. For now, I do not miss my M4 at all. The m5 is much more luxurious. The two cars really can not be compared, because the m5 is on a completely different level (much higher). Even though the m4 was very quick, this car feels like it has way more power. I can feel that I have a lot more power under my foot, than I ever did with the M4.

I was pretty active on the m4 forum (since the day that I ordered the m4), so figured I introduce myself to the M5 world now and also keep track of the build of the m5 from day one.

I am a big fan of BMW brand and this is my ninth bmw. Since I have made the change to the M world back with my e46 M3, I have been pretty much only interested in the m cars.

Here is the M5 the first day I got her from Colorado (dropped off by a truck to NY).







Here is the car after the weekend. Cosmetic Upgrades:
- 20% tints all around
- IND Painted Cosmetic package
- Carbon Fiber front splitters
- Carbon Fiber Rear Center Diffuser
- Carbon Fiber DCT Shifter
- BlendMount Radar Mirror Mount
- Light Tint of headlights (didn't take picture of that yet)

















I just ordered the interior LED lights from ECS.

Also looking for Carbon Fiber Mirror caps and Carbon Fiber Side Skirts. Not really sure which skirts to go with, really hard to tell the difference from the pictures I have been seeing online. Let me know any suggestions.

Yea I ordered the grille from IND and asked them not to paint it and just added the colors as a thin sticker to the front of the grille. I always put them on every M that I had, but feel that you might be right. I think the colors go better with black cars and not so much with gray. I might just take the stickers off.

Got them off of eBay. I just searched for M Emblem Caliper stickers. As long as they are high temperature stickers, they will work. The sizing was spot on.

Not done yet... Got a few carbon fiber parts being hand made for the car now. It will complete the car nicely.

I am really loving the car. Glad I was able to find such a well optioned one. Except the only problem is that now I will never want to go back to regular brakes or get an m without the m performance exhaust.
