How much HP are stock pistons good for on the S63TU?
Looking at getting forged pistons. I'm wondering at what power level on the S63TU they need to be upgraded

My recommendation would be to bullet proof the entire engine for any type of mechanical failure. I would check with your builder or RK Autowerks to help you with the decision.

Stock pistons could most likely be reused if changing ring gap but if you're cracking the motor open it would make sense to replace the pistons while apart. Best of luck with your build. |

These motors bend rods at stock power levels. If you plan on pushing 25+PSI you're going to need forged rods and pistons. |

Velocity Tuning ran over 750whp and wtq on stock internals for over a year before it finally bent a rod i believe. Awesome UK tuner who ran a stock engine to prove a point and win some crowns.

It did not bend a rod, it melted a piston |
