F10 M5 20" BBS FI's are coming.....

Until just two years ago, the iconic BBS FI wheel was a secret BBS project, concealed from the general public. The FI project was meant to be a statement from BBS- a wheel that carried every ounce of the lessons learned from BBS’ three decades of racing experience, the FI was BBS’ trump card to silence the hoards of fly by night wheel companies.

Year after year, the FI was a wheel only available for preview to the privileged few. Only those “in the know” were lucky enough to have a look at the wheels. After countless design revisions, pricing changes, and international negotiations, the FI was still a wheel kept behind trade show counters, inside closed offices, and out of the public eye.

When IND was approached by a client to build the ultimate M3, we knew we had to choose the ultimate wheel. After working every connection available to us, the first set of BBS FI wheels to hit the US was featured on IND’s Blue Max project car.

http://ind-distribution.com/blog/?p=128

Although the FI wheel has now been accessible to drivers of the M3 for several years, we at IND still feel that the FI represents the pinnacle of wheel engineering and craftsmanship. We are so convinced this is true, we even installed 19” FI wheels, meant for the M3, on our own F10 M5 project car.

Late summer 2013 M5 owners will also have an opportunity to own the amazing FI wheel, in a 20” diameter that is appropriate for the F10 M5’s massive brakes. BBS has re-engineered the FI specifically for the M5.

Offsets look pretty good too- I ran a slightly more aggressive set up with my HRE's though and zero rubbing.

Normally the one thing I have a problem with BBS, are the offsets.

Great news for the M5 owners. And the weights are superlight.

But what's really the difference between these and the RI-D wheels??

The RI-D is a 20x9 front and 20x10 rear and made by BBS Japan. The 20" F10 M5 FI has much better sizing and is made in Germany by the motorsport division.

All FI's are painted by BBS and they do not use powder coating due to the forging process. The wheels will come in satin black, gloss black and titanium silver. We can also order them in a primer and paint them any color.

Gotta love these BBS's. I had the BBS CH-R's on my E60 M5 when I sold it. They were satin silver and a beautiful wheel. Nate, put me down on the list to contact once you have a delivery date on these wheels. Thanks.

LOL! I hope that this does not turn out to be something like the AW color choice...methinks a few of us here in SoCal will end up with these wheels
