Just had some beautiful 20" BBS FI's added. The breaking and cornering difference is MASSIVE. I can't believe how quickly the car comes to a stop with these. I guess thats what a 10lb. per corner reduction does...

You can check out the rest on my Flickr.

Until just two years ago, the iconic BBS FI wheel was a secret BBS project, concealed from the general public. The FI project was meant to be a statement from BBS- a wheel that carried every ounce of the lessons learned from BBS three decades of racing experience, the FI was BBS trump card to silence the hoards of fly by night wheel companies.

Year after year, the FI was a wheel only available for preview to the privileged few. Only those in the know were lucky enough to have a look at the wheels. After countless design revisions, pricing changes, and international negotiations, the FI was still a wheel kept behind trade show counters, inside closed offices, and out of the public eye.

When IND was approached by a client to build the ultimate M3, we knew we had to choose the ultimate wheel. After working every connection available to us, the first set of BBS FI wheels to hit the US was featured on INDs Blue Max project car.

http://ind-distribution.com/blog/?p=128

Although the FI wheel has now been accessible to drivers of the M3 for several years, we at IND still feel that the FI represents the pinnacle of wheel engineering and craftsmanship. We are so convinced this is true, we even installed 19 FI wheels, meant for the M3, on our own F10 M5 project car.

Late summer 2013 M5 owners will also have an opportunity to own the amazing FI wheel, in a 20 diameter that is appropriate for the F10 M5s massive brakes. BBS has re-engineered the FI specifically for the M5.
Roughly how much are these wheels?

There is still no official US 20" BBS price. We are lucky enough at iND to have some friends in Germany that got the wheels early. My guess would be a US retail around $11,000 for the set. I'll update this thread and send pm's right when I have the official numbers.

These are very impressive wheels.

However 11k seems like an extreme margin to me when you consider that's 10% of the cost of a whole M5. BBS must be laughing.
